As most other countries, Nepal has gone into lock-down due to Covid-19.
Our students have been send home from school for a few moths already, and the teachers have been mobilized by the government to keep a lookout for new people entering the village.
Nepal have made it illegal to travel between districts which means that some of our local families have family members stranded in other districts without the possibility to come to Phujel.
The 14th of July Nepal had 17.059 confirmed cases and 37 deaths from Covid-19. So far there are no cases in Phujel.
However, everyone are worried because all of Nepal only have 600 respirators (one for every 114.000 Nepalese). The number of cases is expected to rise because more and more expat Nepalese are returning home.
